There is truly nothing better than a fresh, snuggly newborn baby. I am an extremely detail-oriented photographer, but I’m also a mom. So, I get it. The chunky wrists, the tiny toes, the spiky soft hair — I work to capture your new baby in ways that truly document and preserve every little detail because that silly saying is painfully true: babies simply don’t keep.

ADDITIONAL SESSION INFORMATION
My newborn sessions are $425; which allows for up to 60 minutes of shooting time either in your home or in a rented studio space. I have access to two studio spaces in Wichita that I like using. If a studio space is chosen, an additional $45.00 fee will be charged to the client. My newborn session fee includes all props, safety posers, accessories, swaddles, bonnets/hats/bows, etc. as well as the session time and of course post-production editing and delivery.
I will style swaddles + accessories based on what you and other family member(s) will be wearing! Newborn sessions include posed portraits of your sweet baby in my provided props, lifestyle imagery in the nursery (if you choose in-home) and also sibling/family photos if desired. Newborn galleries are typically 45+images, often more and are delivered within 14 days of your session. I prefer shooting babies within 13 days of birth; however, session date can be selected once baby has arrived. Though a specific date will not be chosen until after birth, a deposit is required to reserve space on my calendar as I only schedule 4-6 newborns each month. This ensures flexibility as babies truly do come on their own time!

How do you handle fussy babies?
I use multiple swaddling techniques that soothe the baby and keep them comfortable. I also make sure the environment (your home or studio!) is warm and cozy. If the baby seems to be unhappy and unable to soothe alone, I will use poses that allow the baby to be held and snuggled.
Help. I’m a new mom and have no idea what to wear!
Prior to your session, we will discuss color schemes with a major emphasis on what you (new mama!) feel most comfortable and confident in. From there, we will branch out and choose accompanying colors for everyone else involved in the shoot. In your session prep guide, we will discuss preferred colors for the baby’s portraits and I provide lots of styling tips and suggestions!
How do I decide between a studio space or an in-home session?
For newborn sessions, lighting is crucial for so many things! If your home has beautiful large windows with optimal natural lighting and you want photos in a special space such as the nursery, then an in-home session is a great choice! Studio space sessions are ideal for those who feel like in-home lighting could be compromised. Or, let’s be real! Those first weeks with a new baby are a blur. If you don’t want to worry about having your house spotless and picked up for pictures, then I’ll meet you at the studio! Because studio space is on a rental basis, an additional $45.00 fee will be charged to the client if this option is chosen.
